| Employer Description: |
Panda English Education (Canada), which is a foreign ran business and they are now looking for 6 additional Native English Speaking Teachers for the city of Shanghai. Teachers do not require any experience because they give us full training so that we can perform our best however, experience is an asset. We are supplied with flashcards, books, a large variety of props, puppet, a music CD and DVDs allowing us to give a very entertaining lesson to our students. You are given an ENGLISH contract that is straight forward, some what direct but clear with no double talk.
-Panda arranged all our LEGAL government documents (visa, expert certificate and licenses) so that we can work in China legally.
-They arrange your government medical,
-They help us find affordable housing (of our choosing, in our price range and their Chinese staff negotiated with the landlord to give us a reasonable price).
-They help us to get our temporary residences permit (TRP) and even arrange bank accounts for us.
-They have a nice group of trainers they help us in and out of the classrooms and most of our classes have Chinese assistants, especially for our kindergarten classes.
They really do help us with almost anything else that would make our experience in China enjoyable. I think China is a wonderful place if we just meet the right people.
The owners of Panda are honest and friendly. They have get-togethers with the teachers, Christmas parties, group dinners and a lot of us, just like talking to him over coffee. We find the environment here very friendly.
The salaries at Panda are comparable to the Shanghai market, approximately 10,000/mth (all taxes paid) based on a full time salary which is based on 20hours/wk. It鈥檚 not the highest salary in China but we know, we are not going to have problems with working illegally, which could get us deported or worse, thrown in jail. Due to a fine balance between the number of schools supplied by Panda and the number of teachers needed to fill these jobs, most of us started working for Panda with a part-time schedule but it wasn鈥檛 long before they were able to increase our level of classes. Some of the teachers were allowed to work as many hours as they wanted but Panda really suggests that we have at least 2 days a week off (side by side) to relax and take in China's wonderful sights.
Applying for this job is easy; you must be over 22 yrs of age and just send my boss a copy of your resume and a photograph to panda.education@yahoo.ca
A helpful note: The boss respects applicants that are honest regarding your nationality, education and working history. There is no need for deceit. He is a really nice guy.
